The activities of the group are overseen by a committee of seven people. The committee meets every month to discuss matters of immediate and longer term relevance to the group. It sends a delegate to the twice yearly Theatre Users Group run by Harrogate Theatre to ensure that Woodlands is kept up to speed on matters impacting on our ‘landlord’ organisation such as theatre rental, refurbishment and booking arrangements.
Matters of major policy are always referred to the Woodlands AGM, held each July. The Play Selection Committee (comprising two committee and two non-committee members) is responsible for decision-making on future repertoire. It keeps a record of plays read and ensures that each artistic season contains both a balance of genres and a balance of acting opportunities across gender and age-range. Repertoire is selected eighteen months to two years in advance.
