Why I Enjoy Drama

I have always looked on Drama as a challenge and still do.  It is so rewarding when someone tells me that they have enjoyed a performance and so satisfying for me to know that I have given pleasure to someone else.  This is enhanced by the camaraderie that exists within Woodlands where we try not to take ourselves too seriously and just have fun.

My Drama Experience

I have been involved with drama and Woodlands for about 10 years and originally got involved pretty much by accident, as I suspect a lot of people do.  I have played various parts from Checkhov to Godber with varying degrees of success but prefer comedy to serious drama.  There is obviously something of the fool within me!

Away From Drama

As a Finance Director to an agricultural manufacturer based in Masham (home to 2 breweries) there's not always a great deal of fun to be derived from work, so acting represents a release from the pressures of deadlines, board meetings and the stresses associated with business.  My financial background also fits me very well to the position of Treasurer to the Group which sometimes brings stresses of its own.
