Why I Enjoy Drama
What other hobby allows one to become someone else, to get under the skin of a personality
quite different from your
own and in doing so,
entertain others? Over the years I have played
a cat, an old man (despite then being a youngish woman),
a psychopath, a woman of 102
years
and a murderer, quite apart from the umpteen maids, peasants and upper class women
along the way.
There is also the team work, as those people dealing with props, prompts, set building, booking of premises,
ordering of scripts,
paying of
bills, etc are just as essential to the whole as the actors and directors. The members of Woodlands Drama Group like
to feel that the
finished product transports those involved into
another scenario, another world, and
afford the opportunity to
invite audiences to enter
that world and be convinced.
One warning though, once hooked, there's no cure . . . .
