Why I Enjoy Drama

I’ve no coherent theory as to why I enjoy drama. Every production I’m involved in as an actor I vow will be my last, but a few days after the end of each run I’m pining for my next thespian ‘fix.’ I am, in short, a junky who enjoys hiding in public.

My Drama Experience

I didn’t start acting until I was 52. Since then, I’ve taken part in many Woodlands productions over a whole range of genres. As a former Russian linguist who loves Russian repertoire I’ve been very lucky to have had the opportunity with Woodlands to translate, direct and act in productions of Chekhov and Gogol.

Away from Woodlands

I am Chairman of the Nidderdale and District Drama Association and Northern Area Secretary of the All-England Theatre Festival.  Outside drama I enjoy fell walking, gardening, reading Russian novels and listening to a gargantuan collection of classical CDs.
