Why I Enjoy Drama

I first was introduced to live theatre by a very enthusiastic English teacher. We were taken to see live theatre from school both,
Shakespeare and Modern plays as entertainment and in support of exams. We were also introduced to Leeds Children's Theatre
a group which performed two plays per year of 13 performances each. The plays were performed at the Civic Theatre in Leeds
which also played host to some other 50 amateur groups.

My Drama Experience

After learning backstage work, scenery design and manufacture, scene changing, flies and props for several years before I finally
auditioned for a part in a play and  was instantly and permanently hooked. I played many parts with Leeds Children's Theatre and
also directed for them .I also took parts with other groups at the Civic  and so have had a wide experience of various plays including
Shakespeare, straight plays ,comedies and pantomime, music hall and mime. I have been involved with drama groups when I lived
in Birmingham and of course here in Harrogate with Woodlands.

Away From Drama

My other interests are gardening ,walking in the dales and horse riding
