"Amateur dramatics has to be fun as well as hard work. The joy of live theatre is that it doesn't always go to plan, despite
the many rehearsals. I remember one particular play when the off-stage noise should have been a "pub crowd", but the
wrong button was pressed on the recorder and the sound of a lavatory flushing was heard clearly - entirely inappropriate,
and entirely hilarious; fortunately, this particular play was a farce . . .

The Group also tries to mix in a bit of general socialising and included in this is the reading of plays (usually at members'
houses), giving the opportunity for members to play - well, anyone really - so you could find yourself reading the part of a
very young person when you're not, or an old person when you're young, or a mad person, when you're (you hope!)
sane, etc etc. These get-togethers also provide an opportunity to try out any accents you may not have tackled before".
